Our special focus on climate change
As its visitors sit comfortably in our iconic 40/4 chairs, this weather globe takes them on a journey to the past, where they witness the Big Bang, as well as several predictions of the future. The experience is a timely eye-opener on the reality that awaits us if we don't change our current course. As well as the 40/4 chairs, we have also delivered our Usu tables to this important project. We felt the contribution of both was an appropriate fit, because our long-lasting furniture pushes against the disposable attitude of today’s culture – one of the biggest challenges to our planet’s health.
We take this a little further, too, increasing our responsibility for our GreenTagTM-certified products by designing for disassembly and promising to take back any used and worn pieces in order to prolong their lifecycles or reuse and recycle them.
We’re excited about the effect of Climate Planet in inspiring changes in attitude. And our doors are always open to those wishing to discuss any aspect – be they programmes or policies – of HOWE’s view on climate change and how to slow it. If you want to know more, please check out ‘People and Planet’ on our website.
Climate change is a hot topic that requires the continual focus of us all, so in collaboration with our customer Climate Planet, we’ve tried to do just that – but on a grand scale. An Aarhus city initiative, undertaken with NASA, Climate Planet is an enormous globe encapsulating a captivating technological display to focus on the challenges that climate change presents to our planet. Inside Climate Planet, a weather globe shows a real-time projection of Earth.
