RISING FROM ASHES

In the heart of Salford, the Church of the Ascension once faced a devastating arson attack which nearly reduced the historic building to rubble. During its remarkable restoration, their team sought to create a space that honored heritage while embracing modern functionality.

Integral to this transformation were HOWE's iconic 40/4 chairs, chosen for their elegant design and space-saving stackability. The chairs provide flexible seating that can be easily reconfigured, enabling the church to serve its diverse community needs—from worship to community gatherings— and seamlessly. Today, the wooden version of the classic 40/4 chair works beautifully as contemporary seating.

HOWE’s 40/4 chairs, with their blend of form and function, played a pivotal role in this revival, embodying the spirit of renewal and resilience.
